Duplex stainless steel is a very useful metal that is used the world over.
It gets its name from the fact that it consists of two different grades of metal.
Essentially, Duplex is a Fe-Ni-Cr alloy that has a two-phase ferritic-austenitic stainless-steel microstructure when it is at room temperature.
Stainless Steel Seamless Pipe/Tube Production Process.
Duplex Stainless Steel (DSS) refers to the stainless steel which ferrite and austenite account for about 50% each.
The content of Cr is 18%~28%, and the content of Ni is 3%~10%.
Some Duplex stainless steels also contain Mo, Cu, Nb, Ti, N and other alloying elements.
Performance Features:
1. Molybdenum duplex stainless steel has good resistance to chloride stress corrosion under low stress.
2. Molybdenum - containing duplex stainless steel has good corrosion resistance.
3. It has good resistance to corrosion fatigue and wear corrosion.
4. Good comprehensive mechanical properties.
5. Good weldability, small hot crack tendency, generally no preheating before welding, no heat treatment after welding.
6. High thermal conductivity, low linear expansion coefficient.
