AISI/ASTM/SUS 2507 2205 Cold Rolled Stainless Steel Coil Duplex Stainless Steel SS Coil Steel
The yield strength of 2205 duplex stainless steel is more than twice that of ordinary austenitic stainless steel. This property allows designers to reduce weight when designing products, making this alloy more affordable than 316,317L. This alloy is particularly suitable for use in the -50°F/+600°F temperature range. Applications beyond this temperature range may also consider this alloy, but there are some limitations, especially when applied to welded structures.
2507 is a ferritic -- austenitic (duplex) stainless steel that combines many of the most beneficial properties of both ferritic and austenitic steels. Due to its high chromium and molybdenum content, the steel offers excellent resistance to spot, gap and uniform corrosion. The biphase microstructure ensures that the steel has high stress corrosion cracking resistance and high mechanical strength.
